Arnold schwarzenegger
Filmography of Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is a true living legend. A man forged himself and who leg exercises gym, through effort and personal sacrifice, achieved in life everything that for most mere mortals would be mere dreams. Time to get to know one of the greatest action heroes of the 80s and 90s a little better. Find out how he managed to be one in this bio-filmography.

“For me, power is the ability to transform the world by making it better . ” -Arnold Schwarzenegger.

1º.-Real name: Arnold Alois Schwarzenegger.
2nd.- Nationality: Austrian and USA citizen since September 1983.
3rd.- Date and place of birth: July 30, 1947, Thal (a small town near Graz in Austria).
4º.-Other information:  Arnold had always been a great lover of sports from a very young age. At the age of ten he joined a soccer team, but it was at the age of fifteen when he would first come into contact with the world of which he would end up being a true Living Legend: Bodybuilding .

After obtaining from this sport everything he could get from it in the old continent, he decided to travel to the USA. There, and by the hand of the legendary Joe Weider, he would become the absolute King of Bodybuilding. In addition, Weider would serve as a makeshift financial advisor. With these tips, his own instinct for business and real estate investments, eight years after arriving in the US, Arnold would become a millionaire. The bodybuilding world made Arnold aware of values such as: discipline, camaraderie, sacrifice and effort as means to achieve his goals. A faith that applied them ...

Arnold was also passionate about cinema. The mighty oak had idols like John Wayne, Kirk Douglas, or Reg Park. In this show business, he was able to get, thanks to Joe Weider's mediation, his first leading role on the screen with the 1970 film "Hercules in NY". In this film, he was credited as Arnold "Strong" due to his, in principle, "unpronounceable and unprofessional" surname: Schwarzenegger.

The results of 'Hercules' were not very satisfactory, but Arnold would continue to play small roles in other films. Later, and thanks to 'Pumping Iron' (a documentary about Bodybuilding focused on his figure and that had great repercussion), he would be given the opportunity to play the Incredible Hulk in the famous television series. However, it would be rejected by Kenneth Johnson. The well-known television creator considered it too low for the role of the green giant. The chosen one would be, also a bodybuilder, Lou Ferrigno. Several years later, in number 374 USA of this character's comic, the gray Hulk before the possibility of making a film about his life would say: "Arnold better interpret me or they will have problems".

After taking several acting and diction classes, his great opportunity in the world of cinema would come from the hand of Dino De Laurentiis. This mythical producer offered him the role of ' Conan, the barbarian ' in the 1982 production shot in Spain. The entire team was amazed at the natural landscapes of areas such as Segovia, the Sierra de Madrid or "La Ciudad Encantada" in Cuenca. This tape would know a sequel titled ' Conan, the destroyer ', a film filmed in 1984 and that no longer had such an impact being "poorer" than the previous one.

Precisely in 1984 its final takeoff in the cinema takes place with the legendary movie ' Terminator ' by James Cameron. As a curiosity, it should be said that the actor Lance Henriksen had been selected by Cameron for the role of the T-800. However, a personal interview by Cameron with Arnold changed everything. From that moment, the name of Arnold Schwarzenegger became a benchmark for action cinema in the 80s. An icon was born at the height of his greatest rival and friend: Sylvester Stallone .

In the following years he would act in mythical films for all good lovers of action such as: ' Commando ' (1985), of which Arnold himself said: "It is a film that John Wayne would shoot today" , " Executor " ( 1986), ' Persecuted ' (1987) or the fabulous ' Predator ' (1987). The latter was a great opportunity for Schwarzenegger, since he had always wanted to make a film in the style of 'Wild Group' or 'The Magnificent 7'. The following year he would shoot ' Danko: Red heat 'at the orders of the legendary Walter Hill. Part of this film was shot in Budapest and Moscow (in the "Red Square" itself), thanks to an authorization from the Soviet government. The film offered a positive image of the Soviets by embodying Schwarzenegger as a local policeman who played the hero. In the capital of the former USSR, Arnold was surprised by the number of fans he had there thanks to the video's black market.

In 1990 he filmed ' Total Defiance ' under the command of Paul Verhoeven. This is a film that she is very fond of because it was a personal effort to do so and because according to her own words: "I made the great leap thanks to her . " And it was not without reason when saying it since the film grossed more than 260 million worldwide. After her, he would star in such well-remembered and successful films as ' Terminator 2: The Last Judgment ' (1991) or 'Risky Lies' (1994). In both he would repeat glory and honors with James Cameron behind the scenes (almost 900 million between both films worldwide).

Aside from the genre of action and science fiction, "The Austrian Oak" also tried his luck quite wisely and throughout his career with the comedy genre. I'm talking about films like: 'The twins hit twice' (1988), 'Poli de guardería' (1990), 'Junior' (1994) or 'A father in distress' (1996). He even had time for a curious metacinema exercise that didn't work as well at the box office as he would have hoped, it was ' The Last Great Hero ' of the year 1993.

Finally, and after two films that did not work,  'The 6th day' and 'Collateral Damage' , Schwarzenegger decided to reincarnate the T-800 for the third time in theaters around the world. It was ' Terminator 3: The Rebellion of the Machines '(2003). For this film (directed by Jonathan Mostow instead of the usual James Cameron) Arnold recovered his weight of 101 Kgs from 'Terminator' and collected the tremendous figure of 30 million dollars for repeating the role of the cyborg from the future. These 30 million seem like a lot ... but compared to the amount of billions of dollars of income that all his films have collected worldwide, because in the end it is not so much (T3, for example, raised $ 433,371,112 worldwide doubling its initial budget of 200 million).

Both cameos in the films ' Amazon Treasure ' (2003, here giving over to Dwayne Johnson ) and 'Around the World in 80 Days' (2004) were his last film appearances before becoming Governor of California. Arnold decided to want to take a more active part in the political life of the USA. His victory at the polls was incontestable.

After exhausting his mandate, he ran for reelection and managed to revalidate the position. His electoral victory in California was once again very clear, ending with the Democratic candidate Phil Angelides for an overwhelming 57.8% compared to a poor 37.4%. However, despite winning two elections, the figure of Schwarzenegger deteriorated and lost great popularity and public appreciation.

At the end of his second term, he decided to return to the world of cinema. First it was appearing, little by little, in those magnificent tributes to action cinema and to the eighties heroes who basically are the films of the saga ' Los mercenarios ' (2010, 2012 and 2014) created by Stallone. He then went on to star in films like ' The Last Challenge ' or ' Escape Plan ' (here he co-stars again with Sly thus fulfilling the dream of all of us who love action).

His latest solo film projects have been David Ayer's ' Sabotage '  , ' Maggie '  (a zombie country drama with limited US release), the attempted revival of 'the Terminator franchise' with ' Terminator Genesis '  (its latest major release) commercial),  ' A story of revenge ' (a drama about the loss) and  'International Assassins' (a comedy direct to the domestic market and in which Arnold appears rather little).

He is currently participating in the umpteenth relaunch of the Terminator franchise under the direction of Tim Miller and the production of James Cameron. It should be noted that the filming of 'Terminator: Dark Fate' had to be delayed for a few weeks due to an open-heart operation suffered by our old (not obsolete) hero. Linda Hamilton also returns as Sarah Connor.

On the sentimental level, it should be noted that in 1977, at the “Robert Kennedy Tournament” in Tennis, he met his wife Maria Maria , the niece of Jonh F. Kennedy, until a few years ago . With Maria he had 4 children and everything seemed to be going wonderfully, despite the rumors about Arnold's infidelities. Rumors that became reality when in 2011 the existence of an illegitimate son came to the fore. A scion born a few weeks after his second legitimate son, Patrick. This out-of-wedlock infant had him with a maid, the Guatemalan Mildred Patricia Baena , who had worked for the Schwarzenegger-Shriver family for two decades.

As a result of their infidelity, the marriage broke up and Arnold had no choice but to publicly declare: “There are no excuses and I admit my full responsibility for the damage caused. I apologize to Maria, my children and my family. I'm really sorry . " Apart from this statement, and in favor of Arnold in this matter, it should be said that he always tried to ensure that this illegitimate son did not lack anything. Schwarzenegger is currently dating Heather Milligan, a forty-year-old physical therapist who is noted for her discretion.

Apart from Bodybuilding, cinema and politics, it should be noted that in 1979 Arnold obtained the "Degree in Business and Economic Sciences" from the University of Wisconsi. In 1988, he supported George Bush (father) and was named "President of the Physical Education Council" and weightlifting coach for the "Special Olympics". In late 2013, he published an autobiographical book titled 'Total Challenge: My Incredible Story.'
